Total turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in March amounted to 333.883 mln leva against 495.848 mln leva in February, BSE’s monthly bulletin shows.

BSE registered a historic maximum in December 2006 when shares worth 704.697 mln leva were traded on it.

A total of 22 trading sessions were held in March. The average daily turnover was 15.176 mln leva on an average of 1,359 transactions a day.

A total of 49.21% or 164.3 mln leva of the turnover last month were generated on the Unofficial Stock Market Segment “A”. 89.825 mln leva (26.90%) and 42.082 mln leva (12.60%) respectively came from transactions on the block segment and Unofficial Stock Market Segment “B”.

Chimimport stock was the issue with the highest liquidity on BSE last month, registering a total of 2066 transaction. Chimimport was followed by Eurohold Bulgaria and Sinergon Holding with 1702 and 1544 transactions respectively.

Doverie United Holding and Monbat also made it in BSE’s Top 5 companies in terms of liquidity last month with 1323 and 1147 transactions worth 4.123 mln leva and 5.044 mln leva respectively.

During the past month the total market capitalization of Bulgaria’s public companies was down 1.67% to 18.238 bln leva, data as of 28 February shows.
