Hungary is the world's 56th richest country in the world in terms of gross national income (GNI) per capita, according to a survey of 208 countries by the World Bank, published recently as part of the 2007 World Development Indicators report.Hungary, whose GNI per capital is $16,940, is ahead of neighboring Slovakia (58th), Estonia (60th) and Poland (66th) but it is behind Slovenia (44th), the Czech Republic (49th) and Portugal (50th). Top on the list is Luxemburg with a GNI of $61,340. Among the large economies of western Europe, Germany is ranked 27th, France 22nd and Great Britain 13th.
