Lessoplast AD-Troyan posted a pretax profit of 733,000 leva (1.81 leva/share) in the first quarter of 2007 versus a loss of 1.1 mln leva (2.73 leva/share) a year ago, the company’s financial report filed to BSE-Sofia shows.

Revenues were up 17.7% to 13.16 mln leva from 11.18 mln leva in the corresponding period of 2006. Exports accounted for 71% of the company’s total sales.

Costs in the three months ended 31 March grew 1.3% to 12.43 mln leva. Most of the costs went for purchase of materials – 9.23 mln leva.

Lessoplast has a core capital of 405,000 leva. Its own capital reached 11.085 mln leva in the end of March.

The range of the company’s activity is production of plywood and hardboard. Weldge GMBH of Austria controls 76.67% of its capital, while Deltawood of Cyprus holds 18.28%.

Last year Lessoplast acquired Serbia’s veneer plant Pilana AD.

The last transactions involving shares of Lessoplast was made on 24 April at 55 leva/share. Currently bids/asks stand at 51/57 leva/share.
