Inflation this May stood at 0.1% and since the bgeinning of the year has been 2.4%. Year-on-year inflation figures reach 4.3%, The National Statistics Institute reports.

The prices of food products went down 0.6% in the period while prices of other products increased 0.6% and prices of services rose 0.3%.

Prices of flour went down 0.8% this month, pork -0.7% down, fish – 1.3%, cheeses – 0.8%, eggs – 4.6%, mushrooms – 0.6%, fresh and frozen vegetables are 19.2% down and olives – 0.2% down.

Increase is seen with the following: bread – 0.3%, rice – 0.4%, chicken – 1.6%, vegetable oil – 1.5%, fresh and frozen fruits – 15.1%, potatoes – 6.8%, sugar – 0.5%, ice cream – 0.6%, mineral water – 1.8%, fruit juices and fruit-flavoured drinks – 0.3%, baby and diet food – 0.7%.

Prices of wine and beer rose 0.9% and 1.5% respectively, of spirits – 0.3% while prices of tobacco products dropped 0.2%.
