Last year Bulgaria’s export to Russia was worth 205.4 mln dollars which is 34.6% more than in 2005, the Government press service announced.

Wine products account for approximately 25 per cent of the export, fixture products account for about 12 per cent of it, medicines for 7.5 per cent and cosmetics for 3.4 per cent.

Russian investment in Bulgaria in the period 1992-2006 is worth nearly 294 mln leva which ranks the country 16th on the list of investors. In 2006 Russian investments in our country were worth 85 mln dollars.

The number of companies with Russian participation registered in Bulgaria is 4600 which ranks the country second on that list after Turkey.

Around 400 representations of Russian companies are currently registered with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.

In 2006 Bulgaria was visited by 215 828 Russian tourists which is 23% more than the year before.

Today is the last day of Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev’s vist in Moscow. Today he is meeting consecutively with the patriarch of Moscow and Russia Aleksii the Second, with the chairman of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov and with the president of the Russioan Federation Vladimir Putin and the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.
