Burgas is the third Bulgarian destination to be served by the Austrian Airlines starting 15 May. The carrier will offer three flights a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Passengers can use convenient links from Vienna to more than 130 destinations worldwide on the modern and comfortable airplanes of Austrian Airlines, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported.

Currently the airline has 4 flights a week between Sofia and Vienna and everyday flights to Varna. The new regular line will give passengers the fastest and most convenient transportation to Bulgaria’s fourth largest city, which will boost tourism in the area.

Considering our strategy aimed at secondary markets, our positioning in Bulgaria is very successful, Joseph Brueger, chief commercial officer of Austrian Airlines, said.

Our flights have been connecting Austria and Bulgaria for more than 48 years, the air carrier pointed out reminding that Sofia was included in the schedule of the Austrian Airlines as early as 6 April 1959.

One of the airplanes in the fleet of the Austrian Airlines is named after the Bulgarian capital – Sofia, the company added.
