"Sergey Stanishev is the weakest prime minister the country has seen, he is very dependent and manipulated by Ahmed Dogan into a direction which will not allow the country's economy to prosper," Kolyo Paramov, financist and former MP from the Bulgarian Socialist Party said for NTV.

In his words the oligarchs are attacking the government with the aim of getting a hand on the money from the European Funds and they are doing so through the Minster of the Interior Mr. Rumen Petkov.

The Rumen Ovcharov scandal is something they very carefully planned during the last couple of months with the aim of eliminating him from the government.

Paramov's exact words were „Rumen Ovcharov is an obstacle on the oligarchs' way to the eurofunds.“

He also said that another reason for the elimination of Ovcharov is his strong position in the party which allows him to „determine the memebers of the party's executive bureau as well as its policy.“

„Rumen Petkov is praparing changes within the Bulgarian Socialist party which are not going to lead to any good. Instead they are going to bring to an even worse crisis in the system and will guarantee the oligarchs access to the eurofunds“ Paramov also added.

Stanishev's weakness as Prime Minister provides for the creation of a second circle of power within the government which is very dangerous for the country.

According to Paramov there are two ways of dealing with the situation. The parliament may appoint an expert government not connected with the oligarchs which will finish the mandate and will not repeat the so called „Jan Videnov mistake“.
The other option he named is early elections.
