The initial investment that private equity funds make is 2 mln euro but it can increase to 20 mln euro, said Tom Higgins, BAF Managing Director during the Forum on Private Equity Investment In Bulgraia organized by Global Finance and Kapital daily.

According to J. Benes, Investment Director in 3TS Capital Partners the amount of private equity investment varies between 5 and 20 mln euro. If this figures are exceeded this means that the big, international companies in the sector are in.

Global Finance's general manager Valery petrov thinks tht the amount of the investment depends on the strategy of the fund.„ It can vary between 0.5 mln euro and 10 mln euro.“ he said.

„The funds generally focus on the sectors which are forecast to see a double digit growth in the near future“ Tom Higgings added.

Valery Petrov also said that „currently more than 5% of assets throughout the world are controlled by private equity investment funds and this figure is expected to grow to 15% till 2015.'

„The funds' success is guaranteed by the current growth in economies around the world. In the next couple of years more and bigger companies will appear on the market which will enhance competitiveness and increase the number of deals,“ Petrov also added.“The industry will be playing a serious role in the countries' economies.“

„A problem may arise due to a lack of qualified managers able to lead the business. However this problem may be easily solved by finding managers in the region“ GF's general manager concluded.
